Information & Communication Technology:
Routes Controlling a floor turtle
The children will learn how to create, test, modify and store instructions to control the movements of a floor turtle. They will learn to programme the floor turtle to move around an area by using single instructions, a sequence of instructions and repeated sequences. Questions and answers: The children will develop their awareness of different types of questions, how they can be asked and how ICT can be used to answer them. They will explore a variety of programs and identify the most appropriate tool for a task in order to find answers.

General Organisation
Please ring the school on the first day of absence by 10:00 am if your child is away. Should we not hear from you by 10:00am, someone from school will contact you. If there is a planned absence, parents are required to complete an Application for Leave of Absence.
Please ensure all items of clothing and PE kit are clearly labelled (preferably sewn-on labels) and ensure children have a warm coat to wear during the morning break and lunch hour.
PE/Games lessons are on: Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure P.E kit is in school at all times.
If for any reason your child is unable to take part in a P.E or Games lesson, please provide a note.
Library books will be changed on Tuesday and all library books will be collected in during the penultimate week of term.
Medicines
Children must not bring medicines of any kind into school without prior agreement with Ms Hartley.
Homework
We value the support of parents in providing the time, encouragement and a suitable environment for the children to complete their homework. In setting homework for the children, we aim to provide a relevant activity for them to do in which parents may be involved and which can aid their general educational progress. Each week the children should practise the following:
Reading and comprehension using school reading books sent home;
Spellings, set every Thursday to be tested the following Thursday;
Handwriting practice;
Mental maths, such as number bonds, times tables and number facts.
Parent Consultations
There will be an opportunity for you to discuss how your child has settled in during the term and raise any points for clarification at our parent consultation evening on:
Wednesday 21st October, 2009: 4:00 6:30 pm
Thursday 22nd October, 2009: 5:00 7:30 pm
School Governor class link
In order that the school governors can gain closer links with the pupils and staff, we have attached a governor to each of the classes in the school. He/she will endeavour to make at least one visit to their class during the term and will support the class teacher by working with the children sharing his/her expertise in a relevant area or accompanying a school visit.
Our class governor is: Tom Presho.
