Homework

We value the support of parents in providing the time, encouragement and suitable environment for the children in which to complete their homework.  In setting homework for children, we aim to provide a relevant activity for them to do, in which parents may be involved and which can aid their general educational progress.

The following are some examples of work to be completed at home:
• Weekly spelling list
• Pages from their numeracy homework and mental maths books
• A literacy based task that reinforces that weeks learning

Parent Consultations

There will be an opportunity for you to discuss how your child is progressing and raise any points for clarification at our parent consultation evening/afternoons on:

Wednesday 21st October, 4.00 – 6.30 pm
   Thursday 22nd October, 5.00 – 7.30 pm

School Governor Class Link

In order that the school governors can gain closer links with the pupils and staff, we have attached governors to each of the classes in the school.  He / she will endeavour to make at least one visit to their class during the term and will support the class teacher by working with the children, sharing their expertise in a relevant area or accompanying a school visit.

Our class governor is:  Mrs S. Horsley

Parent Helpers

It is always great pleasure to have parents to help with aspects of school life. If you able to help during school time or on trips please indicate this on the return slip provided.

Those parents who are willing to help at school now need to make sure they have got a current CRB check. If you need a new one or are unsure of the process further information can be obtained from the office.

For parents wishing to help with group readers, there will be a short reading workshop led by Ms Hartley (date to be confirmed).  Group reading will be on Tuesdays 9:00 – 9:30am.

Additional Information

If you wish to discuss the content of this letter or have any other concerns, please contact Mrs Baxter or Miss Childs to make an appointment to see me.

Yours faithfully

Miss V. Canwell
