Homework
Please could you practice doing up zips and buttons on coats and getting undressed/dressed independently. Thank you.
Please note that reading books will be changed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Please ensure your child has their reading book in school on these days as we can not issue a new reading book until the previous book has been returned because we will soon run out of books. Thank you to all parents who help by putting books and letters into the folders. Without this help, the system would be impossible. Please come and talk to us if there are any concerns or points for clarification.
General Classroom Organisation
Library books will be changed on Friday (am).
All library and reading books will be collected during the penultimate week of term. Please try to establish this routine so that books do not become mislaid.
PE lessons are on Thursday mornings. Please provide your child with white shorts, black plimsolls and the appropriate colour t-shirt.
Please can you make sure that your child has fruit or vegetables for their morning snack as the (am) session is very long. Please clearly label any snack pots to ensure their return.
The children will be collected from the childrens only gate at 12 oclock. If your child is going home with another adult please could you write this in the home/school book which is kept in their green book bags. The person collecting your child must have the correct password for us to release your child.
If there are any concerns please come to the office and we will make an appointment to see you as soon as possible.
General school organisation
When children are absent from school, it is essential that a phone message is left with Mrs Baxter or Miss Childs or on the answer phone on that morning.
Please continue to make sure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled. Due to lack of space in the cloakrooms, Key Stage 1 children are not allowed to bring backpacks or sports bags.
Items of jewellery should not be brought to school unless children have been particularly requested to do so.
Parent Consultations
There will be an opportunity for you to discuss how your child is progressing and raise any points for clarification at our parent consultation evening/afternoon on 21st October 4pm-6.30pm and 22nd October 5pm-7.30pm.
We are also holding a reading and writing meeting on Monday 19th October at 11.00am, in which we will inform you of the way we teach reading and writing throughout our school. We are also holding a numeracy meeting in October, This date is yet to be confirmed. If you are able to attend these are very useful meetings.
