Spinfield's School Council

Our school council is made up from different children in the school.  We have two representative from each class.  You can see pictures of the School Councillors on the School Council board.

The school council meets regularly .  We have a member from the Parents' Association at our meetings, Mr Bowe, our caretaker and a teacher who takes the minutes of the meeting.

At our meetings we discuss ideas that children have suggested, organise competitions and make plans for fundraising events.

We DO discuss ALL of the ideas that the children give, but sometimes we come to the conclusion that the idea might not work or we might have to wait until the next term to put the idea into action.

All of our members take an active part in the School Council and have tasks to do at the end of each meeting.

The Officers of our School Council are:

Chairman - Joel Yr6

Treasurer - Joseph Y6

Vice treasurers - Nicholas Y4 and Taylor Y3

Secretary - Maddy Y6

Vice secretary - Jake Y4

So far this year School Council has:

• Sorted out the budget which is £500
• We have decided to spend £200 on playground equipment for KS1 and KS2
• Decided the roles for people on the School Council
• We have two representatives for each class so that if one of them is at a club the other can attend the meeting.
• All the meetings are on different days so that people don't miss clubs
• The School Council had their photo taken
